On Wednesday, local officials and leaders in the Latino community will celebrate the opening of César Chávez Village, an affordable apartment complex for families at 1010 S. Henderson St. in Seattle's South Park neighborhood.
The 25 townhome-style rental apartments were completed last fall.
The village is owned and operated by an affiliate of Sea Mar Community Health Centers, a community-based nonprofit that provides health and human services in nine counties.
The celebration is planned for noon to 2 p.m. It is being held on the birth date of Chávez, who was founder of the United Farm Workers Union.
